Re: "Vcenter alarm: ESXi 5.1 Host connection failure/ Host not responding"

The latest issue with my new host with only management network connected was different. UDP port 902 was blocked between Vcenter and the host and that is why host was getting disconnected.

 

 

However the original issue remains. Although the frequency of the alarm is less now. The host gets disconnected after 7 or 10 days instead of every day. The BIOS update, Network driver and firmware update did manage to reduce the frequency of the problem.

 

VMware captured the packet trace using wireshark on vcenter and also analysed the logs on esxi hosts. They are saying that the issue is from our network side. Not sure where as our networks team has checked and didn't find anything.

 

I still have the case open with VMware. If the error comes up again, I will contact them.

 

SL, are you still getting this alarm? How frequently?
